One of our accredited schools is a venerable finishing school in the UK. We cover not only the finishing program, but also protocol and cross-culture, which are essential for business.

Special courses are offered twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. Due to popularity, early booking is required.

Traditionally, finishing schools served young women from aristocratic European families. The purpose was to provide with teachings on social and cultural etiquette and graces, art, history, creative development and home management. These were schools of international etiquette, cooking, housekeeping, flower arranging, art history, basic knowledge of wine, ballroom dancing and horse riding. All necessary skills and knowledge, in or der to be accepted as a women of high social standing and to finish as a debutante in a ballroom.

The relationship between ballroom dancing and social etiquette runs deep and has coexisted together throughout history. Our mission is to help you develop important skills that will support both your private and professional lives, refining you into an elegant lady or confident business executive that will help you achieve your social endeavours, seek overseas investors, or make an impression at a job or university interview. Social Etiquette and General Behavior

The early teachings of etiquette, manners, and protocol can be traced back to as early as 2000 B.C. Learning the spirit, and understand the reason behind these three essential foundations for social and professional success is the first taste of this course. Understanding why we learn such subjects, why these social rules are in place, why they were created and why they should be followed is the first step towards your education. You will learn the detailed rules behind social greetings, introductions, handshakes, world greetings, escorts, etc.

Networking and Socializing

Building good relationships with people you meet at social events are key for creating a successful network for your social and professional life. You may have heard the saying, “It’s not what you know, but who you know.” Having a great network of friends and acquaintances can help you put your best foot forward. However, social manners differ from country to country. This course offers detailed insight into how to behave appropriately at parties, eye contact, conversation flow and much more.

Personal Image and Society Dress Codes

First impressions last, so ensuring your clothing is an extension of your business’ brand is important. It doesn’t take long for someone to form an opinion of you. In fact, research shows that it takes about a tenth of a second. People look at your appearance, body language and how you are dressed and instantly make an evaluation. This course offers knowledge and insight of dress codes and the importance of following to make the right impression on peers.

The Art of Entertainment

You will learnt the essential knowledge for hosting an event, party or social gathering. You'll learn the key skills to plan a social gathering, how to behave on the day, introducing guests, the details and importance of seating, the differences between the UK, France and different social situations, guest considerations, the role of the host and hostess, performer considerations, cultural considerations, the role of the guest, and how to be a good guest at a social event.

Timeless Correspondence

You will learn essential international communication skills, such as how to write invitations and letters for social gatherings, the formality of types of paper, fonts, envelopes, content, use of honorific, ranking, addressing royal protocol, correct use of social titles, common errors, differences in correspondence depending on the level of formality, and etiquette.

The Art of Table

You will learn about table manners from around the world, with a focus on English, French, American, Middle Eastern and Chinese table manners. You will learn the history of table manners, the history and importance of cutlery, how to recognize the different types, how to use them, how to eat a full course meal, how to pour wine, how to cut cheese, how to eat fruit, and other small details. You will also learn the escort rules for different countries.

Posture Poise and Development

Posture, pose and behaviour makes for a lasting impression on a person. It is also a matter of taste to make a perfect first impression the old-fashioned way. You will learn how to posture, walk, stand, hand and finger placement, how to cross your legs elegantly, and how to behave in a way that makes a good impression on both men and women.

International Body Language

Body language, also known as non-verbal communication, expresses the human mind as much as spoken language. However, its usage varies from country to country, which makes it difficult for Japanese people, who have relatively little body language, to understand it, and is the reason why Japanese people do not understand what they are thinking. You can learn the meaning of body language, how to use it and what you should be aware of.

The Art of Communication

Learn how to avoid making mistakes and what to look out for in speeches, conversations and pleasantries. You will learn tone of voice, timing, facial expressions, eye contact, body language, which hand to hold the glass in, how to speak with good taste, how to make a great first impression, how to start and end a conversation, interview techniques, and how to make captivating public speeches.

Afternoon Etiquette

There is also a wide variety of afternoon tea, an essential part of the English style. The English style is a practice and you will learn everything from its history, culture, how to actually have it, conversation and table manners. There are different types of afternoon tea, high tea and royal tea, and knowing the different types will help you to truly enjoy your afternoon tea.

The Art of Etiquette
